Back to the Park, more Peanuts announcements…

South Park Season 11 reviewed, plus new Charlie Brown announcements.

South Park: The Complete Eleventh Season

The boys are back in the Park for another riotous season that includes their adventures in Imaginationland. The set is overpriced and should be found as better deal online, but fans will be pleased that the show has lost nothing of its razor-sharp wit.

Nightmare's here! Plus the Lone Ranger, Zorro…and Wart!

Comments on the Nightmare packaging, reviews for Lone Ranger/Zorro and Disney’s The Sword In The Stone: in short, stick to the Gold edition!

The Sword In The Stone: 45th Anniversary Edition

Disney’s take on young pre-King Arthur is a riotous comedy: one of the Studio’s most irreverent films, but this 45th Anniversary edition in no way builds on what has been released before.

The New Adventures Of The Lone Ranger And Zorro: Volume 2

Two masked icons of the American West stand up to the forces of oppression in this set of Filmation cartoons that finishes off their respective Saturday morning series.

The Chosen One

Some outrageous language and edgy situations might have boosted the lack of true wit on offer in this Flash-animated feature that struggles to have us invest in its characters or plot.

Freakazoid!: Season 1

Fricassee, freakazoo…Freakazoid! is back on our screens and this great two-disc set is a reminder of how groundbreaking, and plain zany and nuts, this animated comedy show really was!

Tiny Toon Adventures: Season 1, Volume 1

They’re tiny, they’re toony, and they’re back, on DVD! Still fresh, still funny, Warner does their little Looney Tunes proud in this four disc set.

Once Upon A Time…Walt Disney

This companion piece to the Artistic Sources Of The Disney Studios exhibition may fall short in a few minor areas, but otherwise it’s a must-have documentary that takes a serious look at Disney animation art. The addition of the silent Snow White is icing on the cake!

Teen Titans: The Complete Fifth Season

The final season of Teen Titans offers the most consistent tone, with only one real clunker (in addition to a misfire of a finale) marring what is otherwise an epic finish featuring the world’s teen heroes versus The Brotherhood Of Evil.

Talking to Tony Bancroft as Mulan returns to DVD

In a bit of stealth-like marketing, Disney has very quietly released their 1998 animated epic Mulan back to DVD this week. Unfortunately, there’s no Blu-ray edition, and fans with the original 2-disc Special Edition need not apply: the new boxed set merely repeats that version and bundles in the film’s direct to video sequel, Mulan […]
