Clutch Cargo: The Complete Series – Volume One

Cartoons… with real lips. You haven’t lived until you’ve seen Synchro-Vox technology in action! They don’t make ’em like this anymore.

Spider-Man: The ’67 Collection

A Generaton X childhood favorite gets a big ol’ DVD set, as Marvel’s wall-crawling superhero discovers that super powers don’t make life any easier.

Perils of Penelope Pitstop: The Complete Series

While still not one of Hanna-Barbera’s very best, this is still an entertaining show that is perhaps the strongest of the Wacky Races “trilogy.”

Dastardly & Muttley In Their Flying Machines: The Complete Series

Another spiffy DVD set for a mediocre H-B cartoon. The Wacky Races spin-off gets nicer treatment than it warrants, but I have no probalmes with that.

Harvey Birdman, Attorney At Law: Volume One

My childhood memories are disturbed by this send-up of classic Hanna-Barbera characters, yet I cannot help laughing.

Wacky Races: The Complete Series

This old favorite turns out to not have a lot of substance to it, but it is certainly fun as well as being a nearly essential purchase for the Hanna-Barbera fan. Warner Home Video produced a pretty nice little set overall, with a couple of good featurettes.

Nausicaa Of The Valley Of The Wind

Miyazaki’s early masterpiece– finally available in its true form.

Broken Saints (Original Release)

This Internet sensation, an experiment in graphic literature, gets amazingly deluxe treatment in a superb 4-disc set bursting with extras. Broken Saints may not be for everyone, but many have been blown away by this story of spirituality, multinationals, politics, and… well, everything!

Top Cat: The Complete Series

This Hanna-Barbera series is relatively forgotten compared to some of their bigger properties, but fortunately Warner Home Video gave us this fine DVD release so that everyone can now appreciate just how great this prime-time show was.

Rudolph And Frosty’s Christmas In July

This somewhat obscure 1970’s Rankin-Bass feature is surprisingly adept at keeping up the ol’ Rudolph & Frosty magic.

Kaena: The Prophecy

This French CGI project’s origins as a video game show, but the look of the film is unique and the story interesting, even if the details of the plot are a bit hazy.

Presenting Felix the Cat: The Otto Mesmer Classics 1919-1924

A no-frills DVD it may be, but it does present some classic silent cartoons.

Thunderbirds International Rescue Edition Giftset

The original puppet rescue and adventure team soars in these two cinemascope features from the 1960s.

Jonny Quest: The Complete First Season

This prime-time classic got a very nice DVD set. This is one of Hanna-Barbera’s finest shows, and really one of the all-time great cartoons.

Scooby-Doo, Where Are You?: The Complete First and Second Seasons

This set was one of the first Hanna-Barbera DVD sets, which mean that the extras are terrible. However, there is still lots of Scooby goodness here for fans to enjoy.

The Flintstones: The Complete First Season

Though the DVD set is not exactly worthy of the show, one should not miss getting this first classic season of the groundbreaking show— TV’s first original primetime animated series! Yabba dabba doo!!

Spider-Man: The New Animated Series: Special Edition

Spidey looks pretty cool in “comic noir CGI” although the medium does have its pluses and minuses. This may be remembered in the future as an oddity in the career of Spider-Man, but it has some great moments and is well worth a look on this amazingly feature-packed DVD set.

Space Jam: 2-Disc Special Edition

It was a terrible idea, but a hit of sorts nonetheless, and if you must own this movie then this disc is the way to go.

Batman: Mystery Of The Batwoman

This direct-to-video movie brings us back to the Batman: The Animated Series universe. While it does not hit the highs of that show, it has a decent story with a good hook.

Pinocchio In Outer Space

This 1965 film may be obscure, but Image produced a real gem of a DVD.

Bob Clampett’s Beany And Cecil: The Special Edition

This disc is a real treasure that a lot of you probably haven’t seen. You owe it to yourself to read about the disc then get yourself a copy. Seriously.

Heavy Metal: Collector’s Edition

The movie may be juvenile, but it makes no apologies for being all about sex and rock and roll. Strong attitude makes up for some weak drawing, and the soundtrack can’t be beat. Add in a pile of extras, and this is simply one of the best animation DVDs out there, a grand tribute to the rock cartoon classic.

The Complete Uncensored Private Snafu

This early DVD is not up to current day standards for cartoons on disc, but it does provide collectors the opportunity of having all these unique WWII films in one place. Looney Tunes fans should be especially interested.

The Incredible Adventures of Wallace & Gromit

This is THE best way to collect the amazing, original three Wallace & Gromit featurettes, with lots of bonus material not found on the other versions.

Beetle Bailey/Hagar The Horrible/Betty Boop

Two stars from the comics and one from the olden days of animation make for a surprisingly entertaining DVD.

Grave Of The Fireflies: Collector’s Series

A powerful anime film about Japanese siblings during World War II is treated respectfully in this fine 2-disc set.

Uncensored Bosko: Volume 1

They’re not the best cartoons, and the DVD is far from state of the art, but these are the ORIGINAL Looney Tunes cartoons, and for that reason they deserve a look.
