Variety reports that the Los Angeles Film Critics Association has named WALL-E Best Picture. This is the first time the group has ever given the award to an animated film. Waltz With Bashir won the Animation award and was the runner up for the Documentary award.

Variety reports that The Washington, DC Area Film Critics Association (WAFCA) named WALL-E the Best Animated Film of 2008. The Washington, DC Area Film Critics Association is comprised of 46 film critics from television, radio, print and the Internet.
