Paprika UK dvd in September

DVD Active has posted the cover art for the upcoming UK DVD of Satoshi Kon’s latest Anime film Paprika. According to the website, the disc will feature an anamorphic widescreen transfer, Dolby Digital 5.1 audio and a filmmaker’s commentary. The DVD will be released by Sony Pictures Home Entertainment on September 24.

Emerging motion capture technology

Known as “MaMoCa, which stands for ‘Markerless Motion Capture,’ [it] will cut the cost of ‘motion capture’ by 90 percent.” The article includes a link to a video of the technology in action.

ReBoot gets reboot

One of the earliest computer-animated TV series, ReBoot is now being adapted into a trilogy of films, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Looking to Zeros 2 Heroes for creative inspiration regarding the brand, Rainmaker Animation is preparing the movies. Production on the ReBoot trilogy will commence later this year.
