Stand-up comic Gabriel Iglesias and Sky Sports F1 commentator David Croft have joined DisneyToon Studios’ Planes. Croft will voice Racing Sports Network blimp Lofty Crofty for the film’s UK version, having posted a pic of the character on his Twitter profile. Iglesias, who also announced his casting via Twitter, has yet to reveal his character.

Cartoon Brew reports that Escape from Planet Earth is the highest-grossing computer animated movie distributed by the Weinstein Co. Thus far, Earth has collected more than $52 million during its theatrical run. The studio’s previous top CGI earner was Hoodwinked, which collected $51.4 million in 2005.
