Watchmen: Director’s Cut

Love it or hate it, director Zack Snyder’s immensely intricate translation of Moore/Gibbons’ landmark graphic novel is an impressive achievement, and this more cohesive Director’s Cut is stunningly served in a high definition set.

Tom and Jerry’s Greatest Chases: Volume 2

After trying their luck with three “Spotlight” collection releases of the classic shorts (all three with some flaws, editing among them), and a recent Chuck Jones release for the duo, Warner has finally reverted back to the original release format – Greatest Chases, first used in their 2000 release Tom and Jerry’s Greatest Chases.

Peanuts: 1960’s Collection

All six classic specials come in a nifty little package. Putting them accross two discs is a bit of a joke, but the contents are still golden. Great Vince Guaraldi profile, too!

Up DVD and Blu-ray in November

Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs outperforms Nemo overseas

Variety reports that 20th Century Fox’s three-quel Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs has become the highest-grossing animated film ever overseas, with a gross of $551.4 million through last Sunday. The previous record holder Pixar’s Finding Nemo had grossed $524.9 million internationally in its 2003 release.

Ruby Spears Superman DVD in November

DVDActive reports that Warner has announced Ruby Spears Superman dvd on 3rd November. The 2-disc set will feature 13 episodes from 1988-89. Extras will include a “Corporation of the Corrupt: The Rise of LexCorp” featurette.
