It’s time to get thee to the polls for one of the most historical presidential elections of all time: today Americans all over the country will be voting to pick Barack Obama or John McCain as the 44th President of the United States. Our own James R Whitson will be following events and providing running commentary as they unfold at his President Elect website (yep, he mixes politics with animation…a ticking time bomb that could go off anytime – no wonder the guy’s so screwey)! But seriously, today is when you need to get out and vote: do your part now, or the duck on the right will have the last laugh!
Rand’s hopped in with his latest Peanuts review this morning, for A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving, Warners’ new remastered edition of the 1973 special. Rand’s a confirmed Schultz nut and as such the disc gets the “must-own” badge, and though he does point out slightly inferior video standards in relation to the other titles in the series, the rest of the package (featuring an additional special and new interview featurette) “is certainly as good as what we’ve come to expect from these releases”.
We’ve a heap of classic cartoon reviews for you on the way: check back later tonight when I’ll be aiming to unleash my comments on the Looney Tunes Golden Collection: Volume 6 (currently going for $20 off at Amazon), which I’m working on finishing up right now. And don’t forget that today sees the release of the third and final edition of Fleischer Studios’ spinach-guzzling shorts: Popeye The Sailor, 1941-1943: Volume 3 is in stores now, and available online from Amazon for a very reasonable $25!
Stay tooned! – Ben.
