DreamWorks moves forward with Tintin

According to Herge Studios via Coming Soon, DreamWorks is going into pre-production on a film based on the Belgian cartoon series The Adventures of Tintin. The movie is expected to hit theaters in approximately two years. At this time, it is unknown whether the Tintin picture will be animated or live-action.

'My name is David'

My Name Is Earl star Jason Lee has been confirmed by Variety as playing David Seville in the CGI/live-action Alvin and the Chipmunks. With Tim Hill directing from a screenplay by Jon Vitti, the Fox 2000 and Fox Animation flick is set to debut in theaters on December 14.

Coming Soon and IGN speak with Kevin Munroe, the director of TMNT. Both interviews concern the voice talent, characters and inspiration for the project. Concurrently, IGN also serves the final one-sheet for TMNT, featuring a variation on the film’s teaser poster.

The Animation Guild Blog reports an update on such Nickelodeon shows as The Mighty B, Making Fiends, Fairly OddParents, SpongeBob SquarePants and Dora the Explorer. Likewise, the site indicates that The Land Before Time XIV could be on the way.

Upcoming Pixar has obtained high-res pictures from the latest Walt Disney Annual Report. Included in the batch are images from the films Ratatouille and WALL•E, as well as theme park attractions Toy Story Mania, Toy Story Live, Monster’s Inc. Pixar's Burke to speak at N.C. School of the Arts

The Winston-Salem Journal indicates that Pixar animator Adam Burke will speak at the N.C. School of the Arts’ Digital Arts Symposium 2007. The event will take place at 11:45 a.m. tomorrow, in a celebration of storytelling through design. Tickets for the symposium are $25 for the public, while free for NCSA staff, faculty and students.
