Emerging motion capture technology

The Orange County Register yesterday reported on a new motion capture technology pioneered by Gene Alexander. Known as “MaMoCa, which stands for ‘Markerless Motion Capture,’ [it] will cut the cost of ‘motion capture’ by 90 percent.” The article includes a link to a video of the technology in action.

ReBoot gets reboot

One of the earliest computer-animated TV series, ReBoot is now being adapted into a trilogy of films, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Looking to Zeros 2 Heroes for creative inspiration regarding the brand, Rainmaker Animation is preparing the movies. Production on the ReBoot trilogy will commence later this year.
