ABC may dump some Saturday morning cartoons

The AP (via {{link http://www.usatoday.com/life/television/news/2003-12-11-weekend-news_x.htm USA Today}}) reports that ABC has received approval from its affiliate board to produce weekend morning news shows which would compete with those on CBS and NBC.
