boundinUPDATE: Pixar has posted a sneak peak of their latest animated short film Boundin’ on their website! And after seeing the clip I can honestly say that I have never looked so forward to seeing an animated short! The story is told in song (with an old-timey western theme) and is about a lamb who, after losing his wool, is cheered up by a jackalope. The animation is stunning (as usual for Pixar), but the humorous characters are what make this short so appealing. Within seconds I was already laughing out loud! The film was directed by veteran animator Bud Luckey, who also pitched the original story, created the conceptual drawings of the characters, wrote the music and lyrics, and performs the song! Boundin’ is already up for an Annie and will probably be in the running for an Oscar too. But it will face stiff competition, especially from Destino, Boy’s Night Out, and Gone Nutty (if it’s declared eligible).
