Following the box office returns for Leap!, it would appear as though The Weinstein Company is rethinking their future of distributing foreign animated movies in the states. The Guardian Brothers, a Chinese action comedy which was supposed to be their next release, has been put on Netflix with virtually no marketing to speak. What this may mean for the studio’s other upcoming films remains to be seen, but for the The Guardians Brothers, at least, no theatrical release in the states will happen now (even with a big name English voice cast).
