The Wrap has the scoop on a recent Hollywood Radio and Television Society panel where Disney CEO Bob Iger was interviewed by Academy Award winning producer Brian Grazer. The first topic discussed was Pixar founder Steve Jobs who died in 2011. At the time Iger became CEO Disney’s relationship with Pixar had deteriorated. When Iger called Jobs about salvaging things the Pixar chief agreed but warned he was skeptical: “I think you’re just more of the same”. Both CEO’s appreciated the fact that they could be honest and direct. In fact, Iger says Jobs would sometimes call on Saturday mornings to say if the Disney movie he had seen Friday night had “sucked”. Among other things in the piece, Iger also discusses what he learned from the legendary business icon.
