In these miserable economic times even the wealthy are downtrodden. Sophie Dahl, granddaughter of British children’s author Roald Dahl, is asking for donations from the public to save the shed where Dahl penned his books. She wants £500,000 ($1,000,000) to save the hut from disrepair and to move it to a nearby museum. The British public responded by saying the wealthy Dahl family should pay for the move themselves. They receive royalties from the books and Sophie Dahl is a famous model and married to Jamie Cullum–a musician who has his own fortune. The Dahl family wants to move the shed to the Roald Dahl Museum for public display, but the public probably won’t be helping. Dahl wrote James and the Giant Peach, The Witches,Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and many other classics.
