Michael Giacchino, the composer of the score of Disney/Pixar’s Up, won two of the three Grammy Awards he was up for at tonight’s (1/31/2010) ceremony, per an article from TrekMovie.com (via HitFix.com).
Giacchino’s soundtrack score for Up won Best Score Soundtrack Album For Motion Picture, Television Or Other Visual Media, against Giacchino’s own score for Star Trek, The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button by Alexandre Desplat, Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince by Nicholas Hooper and Milk by Danny Elfman.
In the category of Best Instrumental Composition, the Up composition Married Life won while unfortunately, Giacchino’s Up with End Credits lost out in the category Best Instrumental Arrangement.
