DreamWorks Animation’s final installment in one of the most profitable animated franchises of all time comes to a close today with the release of Shrek Forever After. The sequel seems to be dividing critics so far, with a current rating of 50% “Freshness” over at RottenTomatoes.com. One thing that most reviews seem to agree on, though, is that it’s a better movie than Shrek the Third, which was a critically panned but commercially successful sequel. Opening¬†in 4,359 theaters according to Box Office Mojo, the movie is easily expected to open on top this weekend, especially thanks to the boost from 3-D screens. Box Office Prophets¬†predicts a strong debut of around $95 million.
