On February 18, 2011 Japan will have its 34th Japanese Academy Prize ceremony. The Academy Prize is the Japanese equivalent to Hollywood’s Oscars. Five movies were nominated in the category of feature length animated film: Sunrise Studio’s Colorful, The Borrower Arrietty from Studio Ghibli, Doraemon The Movie: Nobita’s Great Battle of the Mermaid King made by Fujiko Productions, Detective Conan: The Lost Ship in the Sky from Tokyo Movie Shinsha, and Toei Animation’s One Piece Film: Strong World.
