Jim Hill, who is always good for a different perspective on the news, says lower than expected box office numbers for A Christmas Carol aren’t going to bother Disney executives today. Hill says that Disney is taking the long view with the film, looking at what they can make not only in theatres and disc sales but by having a new film they can bring out perennially. “[W]hen you take the long view (i.e. what this ImageMovers Digital production will earn for the Company over the next 3 to 5 years) … It’s still going to wind up being an amount that would have made Ebenezer Scrooge (at his absolute greediest) very happy.”
