Hey all! Well, I can’t believe we pulled it off, but James caught his train, and Randall and I managed to not get stuck in various airports as we all made our way to San Diego for the annual Comic-Con extravaganza. It was an amazing trip, during which we all met up again for the first time (work that one out!) and enjoyed the Con to the most. Lots of cool swag in the bag, a bunch of rarities bought and some very cool autographs nabbed from some exceptionally nice people. We also managed to talk shop with the likes of Jerry Beck, Floyd Norman and Looney Tunes DVD producer Constantine Nasr, before heading over to Anaheim to visit the happiest place on Earth for a fun few days, which turned out to be the perfect way to unwind after the hectic chaos of the Con.
So this is just a brief post to let you know that we made it through – nope, even that little earthquake incident didn’t stop us even if it might have shaken us up a tad – and that we’re all pretty much home and raring to go on some new stuff for the site. I’m sure we’ll be posting our thoughts on the whole experience shortly, but in the meantime please excuse us if we do a little catching up behind the scenes before we start posting our backlog of reviews and articles. One great thing about meeting up was that we could have a practical conversation about the future of Animated News & Views and while our plans are exciting they’ll take some time to come to fruition.
But…stay tooned – we’ve some cool stuff up our sleeves! – Ben.
