TAG and Blue Sky Disney both report on the recent Walt Disney Animation Studios meeting, where Glen Keane, co-director of Disney’s upcoming Rapunzel, commented that the restructuring of feature animation instituted by new leaders Ed Catmull and John Lasseter has greatly improved the story for Rapunzel. Everyone seemed to be excited about the new emphasis on story. Glen and co-director Dean Wellins are moving ahead with the story, which is now up on reels. The “Story Trust” of Disney and “Brain Trust” of Pixar have contributed valuable assistance to the second and third acts of the film. The first act has remained relatively the same since Lasseter approved of it earlier this year.
