As promised, we have the lucky winning names to announce for our Disney/Pixar giveaways. The reader with a DVD copy of Pixar Short Films Collection on the way to them is Gordon Yarley, from Ontario, Canada, while Andy Ricchio, from Arcadia, California, will find Ratatouille landing on his door step soon. Congratulations to both, and enjoy your discs!
Speaking of which, those of you who entered our contests but didn’t win, never fear! Both Pixar Shorts and Ratatouille are in stores now, along with the Blu-Ray debut of last summer’s Cars, with some great deals online from Amazon.com:
• Ratatouille – Standard DVD – $14.99 (from $29.99)
• Ratatouille – Blu-Ray Disc – $23.95 (from $34.99)
• Pixar Shorts – Standard DVD – $19.99 (from $29.99)
And what of Pixar’s competition? Well, our own James R Whitson will be along shortly to post his Animated View on DreamWorks’ latest, the Jerry Seinfeld starring Bee Movie, which opened to $38 million this past weekend. Despite that fairly healthy number, James doesn’t sound too impressed with the movie itself even though he’s a Seinfeld fan. We’ll need to see what the drop off numbers are next weekend to see if the comedian’s foray into computer animated comedy remains A-list, or if it’s in danger of lurking in B-movie territory. James will be along later today with his take, so keep ’em peeled!
