Things couldn’t get any better today as the Popeye: 1933-1938 Collection finally comes to DVD and is in stores right now for you classic cartoon nuts to go and pick it up. We’ve added a ton of Popeye content for you in the run up to our official review, but if you need any more convincing that this is the “must have” title of the year, check out this exclusive clip – thanks to Warner Home Video – that reveals just how groundbreaking the Fleischer cartoons really were! We got this handed to us in various formats, but I’ve just gone with the decent quality QuickTime version, so hopefully that’ll work for most of you out there, and a reminder that there is five hours more from where that came from in the set itself. Yesss!!

Coming bang up to date is our own Toon Review for what seems like the world’s number one film this week, The Simpsons Movie. James caught this theatrical outing over the weekend and posted his thoughts yesterday here on the site, which make for very interesting reading, though be wary of the spoiler alert if you’re one of the three people who haven’t seen it yet!

Finally, let’s not forget that today marks the release of another big title for Warners, the historical, special effects filled epic 300, and we have one copy of the single-disc fullscreen edition to giveaway! You have a week left to get in your entries. Be brave, and good luck!
