After the recent news that DreamWorks and their claymation partners Aardman are ending their production arrangement, the future of Aardman has been a little uncertain as to where they might look to next for distribution. What is certain, however, is today’s welcome news that another Wallace & Gromit film is in the works. After battling crzed penguin thieves, sheepdogs and were-rabbits, can the duo carry off their most audacious rescue to date and save their parent company? If anyone can do it, it’s Aardman’s most successful team, luckily still completely owned by the Studio. Let’s hope writer-director Nick Park can pull another one out of the hat – I wish them all the best!

After yesterday’s epic post on the DreamWorks/Aardman split, I didn’t have time to note several updates to the site. Josh has added some DVD Deals on Sony’s release of Open Season this week, while Randall has added a number of catalog reviews, for the French CG feature Kaena: The Prophecy and the Sony update of Marvel’s Spider-Man: The New Animated Series, which garners better-than-average marks.

Finally, Rand has added the third and final part of his extensive look back at the world of Hanna-Barbera, with Hanna And Barbera: A Cartoon Appreciation Part 3, which I urge you to check out for an entertaining run down of the company’s output from the 1970s to their legacy today.

Enjoy! – Ben.
