Box Office Guru reports that over the weekend, the live-action/animated film Fat Albert found itself in fourth place, taking in an estimated $10.7 million, rising 7% from its two-day bow last weekend. After nine days, the PG-rated family comedy has grossed $33.9 million. Meanwhile, though the film may not be animated, it should be noted that surprisingly, Disney’s National Treasure rose a whopping 77%, after a prolonged advertising campaign from Disney. Taking in $7M in its seventh weekend of release, the PG-rated adventure has grossed $154.8 million so far. While Christmas may be over, The Polar Express continues to roll on at the box office, falling 12% with $5.7 million. Currently in its eighth weekend, the Warner Bros. animated film has taken in $155.2 million, becoming Tom Hanks’ eighth film to gross $150+. Finally, The Incredibles rose 66%, grabbing an estimated $4 million in its ninth week. With $251.5 million, the Disney/Pixar film passed Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban to become the fourth largest movie of 2004. On the all-time list of domestic blockbusters, The Incredibles now stands at #30, behind the fellow Pixar film Monsters, Inc., which took in $255.9 million in 2001.
