Coming Soon reports that the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has announced the list of films that are being considered for nomination for the Achievement in Sound Editing Oscar at the upcoming Academy Awards. The Incredibles and The Polar Express will go up against Spider-Man 2, The Aviator, Collateral, The Day After Tomorrow, and Ray. Ten-minute clip reels from each of these films will be shown to the Sound Editing Award Committee on January 18, after which three of the seven films will be nominated for Oscar consideration. The 77th Academy Awards will air Sunday, February 27, 2005, on ABC.
