Nominated for three Annie Awards, including Best Home Entertainment Production, Kronk’s New Groove appears to be drawing mixed reviews, though all of them seem to indicate that the movie will at least be enjoyed by younger audiences. “Humor abounds in this successful sequel, the animation and voice talent are strong, and the characters are just as appealing as in the original movie,” says Amazon.com. On the other hand, eFilmCritic disagrees, commenting, “Overall, it’s just too generic, and generic is not what we want from a sequel to a film that managed to escape the Disney mold.” Providing an in-between thought of Kronks New Groove is The Aisle Seat, which suggests, “Colorful animation should entertain the kids in this 75-minute small-screen affair, which is no better or worse than most of Disney’s made-for-DVD releases.”
