Moviehole has the scoop that Imagi Services, currently behind the new CGI Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film, are also working on Cat Tale, which enlists a cast composed of Sean Astin, Elisha Cuthbert, Stanley Tucci, Alan Cumming, Fred Willard, Catherine O’Hara, Billy Idol, Wayne Knight, Michael Richards, David Cross, Rip Torn, Jerry O’Connell, Chazz Palminteri, and R. Lee Ermey. Cat Tale tells the story of Rover (Astin), a cat who is accidentally raised in Dogtown before returning to Catopolis to “find his roots”. Cuthbert provides the voice of Cleo, Rover’s love interest, while Tucci plays the cat-box-litter executive who is after Rover and Cleo. Cumming has the role of Newton, Rover’s friend and guide in Catopolis. Written by Aaron Mendelsohn and Kevin Munroe, Cat Tale is slated for 2006.
