Unsurprisingly, The Lord Of The Rings: The Return Of The King heads up the hopefulls for the primarily live-action effects fests, with eleven nods, while Pirates Of The Caribbean: The Curse Of The Black Pearl just beats Nemo‘s four with five nominations. Another fantasy earlier predicted to be in the running, Big Fish, only comes out with one potential award for Best Score, though is up against strong competition from Rings and Nemo. The Academy Awards will be shown on ABC, on February 29, at 8pm (ET). Here are those nominations for the above mentioned films:
The Lord Of The Rings: The Return Of The King: Best Picture, Director (Peter Jackson), Art Direction, Costume Design, Film Editing, Make-up, Score, Song (“Into The West”), Sound, Adapted Screenplay and Visual Effects.
Pirates Of The Caribbean: The Curse Of The Black Pearl: Best Actor (Johnny Depp), Make-up, Sound, Sound Editing, and Visual Effects.
