Jerry Beck, at his Cartoon Research site, links to a story at Adweek which reports that Bugs and Daffy are appearing in a new TV commercial for the Aflac insurance co. The spot first aired during college football bowl games yesterday (January 1st) and will now hit rotation on national network and cable channels. After the box-office disappointment of the Joe Dante-helmed Back In Action picture (rumored to have been labelled as “the worst film we’ve ever made”, according to an unnamed WB exec), at least the new promo will keep the characters in the public eye and give a boost to the Looney Tunes franchise.
