Vinicio Mckay, an Animated News reader from Guatemala, has written in to let us know about the Lilo And Stitch 2-disc Special Edition DVD that has just been successfully released there. The disc follows along the same lines as reports of other foreign-language editions of this title, featuring director’s audio commentary, music video clips, a full-length documentary, all the features from the original release, and new games including an Island Of Adventure demo. Most intriguingly, the disc includes the original alternative ending that had Stitch commandeering a 747 jet plane to rescue Lilo, presented as an extra but not inserted back into the movie. The Central American disc is region 1 and 4 compatible, with selectable options to view the menus and the movie in English, Spanish or Portuguese (in Dolby Digital 5.1) and widescreen 1.66:1 format.
