DreamWorks’ Father of the Pride premieres tonight on NBC at 9pm ET to mixed reviews.

The Cincinnati Post calls it “a mostly tired version of the family sitcom”, while The San Francisco Chronicle says “Let’s hope Father of the Pride is on the road to extinction”. The Chicago Tribune writes that it is “too risque for kids, too dumb for adults”.

However, The Commercial Appeal says the show “has more three-dimensional wit than the average sitcom”. The Houston Chronicle believes that Father of the Pride is a “roaring good time” and The Boston Herald adds that the show “shines”.
