Fans of classic animation, and of Disney shorts in particular, will be over the moon with the announcement, exclusively at Ultimate Disney DVD, of the complete programs to appear in the May 18 wave of Walt Disney Treasures collectors packages. Four titles, variying between 105,000 and 250,000 limited issues, will be released, inlcuding Mickey Mouse In Living Color Volume 2, The Chronological Donald, Walt Disney On The Front Lines and Walt’s Tomorrowland. And the line up is every bit as good as fans had hoped! Donald will include over 30 shorts, while Tomorrowland features Ward Kimball’s five space shows made for the DisneyLand TV series, plus Walt’s original EPCOT film.

Front Lines features the rarely seen Victory Through Air Power film, as well as a host of companion Donald Duck wartime cartoons, including Der Fuehrer’s Face, and the shorts Education For Death, Reason and Emotion, Thrifty Pig, Seven Wise Dwarfs, The Spirit of ’43, Chicken Little and The Winged Scourge – all titles legendary to many Disney fans but unseen until now. Finally, Mickey 2 will include the last remaining color cartoons to star the Mouse, as well as the featurettes Mickey’s Christmas Carol, The Prince And The Pauper and Runaway Brain. Adding a little padding to the extras are The Sorcerer’s Apprentice and Mickey And The Beanstalk sequences from other films, and several clips from previously available programs. However, the extensive extras in the other sets mean that the five month delay from last December sure looks like it was worth the wait!
