The Hollywood Reporter reports that Walt Disney Pictures and Jerry Bruckheimer Films have optioned the movie rights to American McGee’s The Wizard of Oz. According to McGee, the film has no time frame, and will be the first of a trilogy. Screenwriters Kevin and Dan Hageman are attached. “Other media deals are either signed or pendingigned or pending.” However, status of the film version of McGee’s Alice, which was planned as a computer-animated movie for Miramax, is still unknown at this time.
