Ain’t It Cool News has another very hopeful Shrek 2 review, as it states, “Shrek 2 deserves to stand proudly with Toy Story 2 and the yet-unmade Kazaam 2 as sequels that are better than the original. I say better because it was easy for the first Shrek to be original; there had not been a Shrek precursor to set the bar and tell people what to expect. Molds are in place for audience expectations for this film and in my mind, it broke free of every single one of them by introducing great new characters, one joke after another, great musical sequences and new dynamics and twists to the whole Shrek world.” The reviewer then warns that fans of the Dragon character may want to stay after the film’s ending credits. Shrek 2 hits theaters on May 21.
