Dark Horizons posts the updated weekend box office results from Box Office Mojo. The current top ten doesn’t feature any wholly animated films, but plenty of CG effects pop up in:

5. The Haunted Mansion, with $6.3m for a $53.9m total after 3 weeks
7. Elf, adding another $6.2m to bring in a total of $147.7m after 6 weeks
9. The Cat In The Hat, with $4.2m topping up a $90.8m total after 4 weeks

The recently DVD-announced Brother Bear is still around, at no. 17 after 8 weeks, adding $652,000 to its takings, meaning it has reached almost $80.5 million domestically. Expected to shoot straight to no. 1 this week is Return Of The King, while opening in the UK this weekend is Disney’s remade Freaky Friday (out on region 1 DVD tomorrow).
