Carl Urbano, winner of the Motion Picture Screen Cartoonists Golden Award in 1981, has died at 94. He began his career in the 1930’s, and in 1940 was an animator for the Oscar-nominated Puss Gets The Boot, the first appearance of Tom and Jerry and the first “full teaming of William Hanna and Joseph Barbera, with whom Urbano was long associated”.
