Hilariously low numbers for TR. Averaging less than ten tickets sold per theater.

FWIW, Jonah is actually terrific for what it is. Great songs and it’s quite funny, too.

Re: 96th Oscar Nominations
Interesting article on Robot Dreams (and Migration). From a month ago so kinda late for me to share it on the news page, but it’s a nice quick read. I think we’re supposedly getting Dreams in the states this summer (although I doubt it will go wide): https://www.latimes.com/entertainment-arts/awards...

Re: 2023 Readers' Choice Poll
I'm so behind on movies it's not even funny. I still haven't watched Wish or Spider-Verse. No "Barbenheimer" either (I'm sure I'll like Oppenheimer, but have become reluctant to check out Barbie despite being excited for it beforehand). Kind of nuts that Ninja Turtles got snubbed at the Oscars, thou...

Made a hilariously low $97 per screen this weekend. Just terrible.

Re: Soul
And the box office is, predictably, absolutely dismal. Soul is performing like Playmobil. Disney didn’t even add a new short or any other incentives to lure audiences in (not even like free collectible posters), yet ridiculously, it’s playing at my local theater while the brand new Migration isn’t. ...

Re: Pooh & Bambi books going Public Domain Next year!
Or it’s just a cool fan project that is clearly being made with a lot of affection and effort? I don’t think it’s weird standards to say it’s cool and certainly not disrespectful in any way (at the very least I certainly don’t think it’s intended that way). And speaking for myself, I guess, I person...

Re: Illumination's Migration
So I was kind of shocked by how much I ended up loving Migration. Beautiful animation, a surprisingly gorgeous musical score, endearing characters, and tight pacing. Some of Illumination's best work for sure.

Re: Pooh & Bambi books going Public Domain Next year!
This seems like a good time to bring some attention to "Milton Mouse"--the OG rip-off of Mickey.
Those teeth tho.

Re: Pooh & Bambi books going Public Domain Next year!
Okay, I think I need to clarify that the article I shared was satire. Hard Drive is a satire site (would have thought the Del Toro “quote” and the titles themselves would have made that apparent). :) The Mickey’s Fun House movie is very much real, though. From a copyright standpoint, I’m assuming it...

Re: Pooh & Bambi books going Public Domain Next year!
I guess comedy really is subjective? :) I thought it was hilarious. And that was the joke. That there was already an endless list of project names (all of them ridiculous). Since there have already been two of them announced today alone (including a horror movie). https://www.hollywoodreporte...

Re: Marvel Cinematic Universe
The thing is that the “assault” he was convicted of is a nonsense charge that probably never should have gone to trial.
