I agree about Bats Returns - from the opening it was like "oh wow, here we go!" - much more layered and confident a film than the first. I liked it, too, but I can never forgive Burton for what he did to the Penguin. He totally SCREWED UP that character by making him this nasty, disgusting.. thing....

Re: The "serious" animated film??

--there is no way that animated epics can be done in CGI. Can you imagine Pocahontas as a CGI character? (*shudders*)  Oh, man, Violet you floored me here! Do you seriously believe that an animated epic absolutely cannot be done in CGI?? I've got to say flat out that you're wrong. Just...

People love Luke Skywalker because of his bravery and kindness. You could root for him. I will feel "sad" when I see Hayden turn to the dark side and all, but to tell the truth I don't know how much I'll actually care. There's very little drama there....O.K...the boy who invented C-3PEO turned to t...

Funny thing is, I've only paid for it once. And, yes, the other three times were perfectly legal. On the totem pole of Star Wars devotion there are many people higher than me. I didn't wait in line. I didn't camp out. I didn't dress up as any character or take toy lightsabers with me. I don't know ...

Big opening - too much too fast. Rescuing Palpatine - very good, fun and adventurous with even some of the humor of the OT! Then, everything went downhill. Padme is pregnant despite Anakin not being around (??) and everything starts happening BECAUSE IT HAS TO and not because it feels natural. Anak...

I LOVE STAR WARS ON THE WHOLE. But the prequels are not really Star Wars, and Sith is the least of them. :) Ben, you have officially confirmed your insanity. But seriously, "Sith is the least of them"? The LEAST of them?? I (and, apparently, millions of others) find that truly baffling.

Yeah... Yeah, that movie was badass. The diolouge during the lovey-dovey parts weren't that great, but I'm a sucker for a love story, so I liked it anyway. My only real complaint with the movie was that General Grievous was NOT IN IT ENOUGH. Seriously he was like... So friggen cool it wasn't even f...

Do you guys realise that you only need to move only one letter in the word 'Sith' to spell out what that movie is? Seriously, now you're all seeing it, I can say how disappointed I was. I stand by what I said here last week that it is "bigger" than Clones, but not better. Wow! I am baffled ...

FAMILY GUY: The show is back, BETTER THAN EVER! Hell, even the way they started the episodes, COMPLETELY bashing Fox... I'm so glad family guy is back. Oh, the jabs at Fox were hilarious!! I love when Peter is running down the list of shows that Fox would have to cancel for them to pick up Family G...

Family Guy is Back!

Just watched the season premiere (and return) of The Family Guy and I've got to say, the show has still got it! Laughed out loud through almost the whole show. Very, very funny stuff. Hope it manages to have a much longer run this time around on Fox. If not, at least it will continue on Cartoon Netw...

[quote="PatrickvD"Little Patch of Heaven is pure sunshine. Especially the reprise at the end, that alone deserved an oscar (especailly over that terrible Shrek song). And I've got to mention "When She Loved Me" from Toy Story 2 I forgot about that song. I agree that it was a great song and fit that...

:D OOO! Great topic! There's a couple I heard mentioned previously that I totally agree are often overlooked: "God Help The Outcasts" from The Hunchback of Notre Dame is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. I know a lot of people may not remember it. Also loved that others mentioned "Ref...

Thanks, George! That was interesting stuff about the stormtrooper origins.
