Re:

My interest in seeing this just shot up. "300 with owls"? Sounds like an undiscovered gem! :) Well, the special effects for 300 were done by Animal Logic, if my memory serves me right (I think it would be on their website, but I don't have the time to check it right now), so the yeah... It's not co...

Re: Oscars 2010

The biggest compliment that I can give SFA is that it kept the franchise from ending on the low note that "Shrek the Third" ended on. Having recently watched both movies on the same evening, it's easy to see that "Forever After" is a MUCH better film in every aspect. To be fair, "Blech the Third" d...

Re: Oscars 2010

Perhaps because, according to the Academy, it doesn't deserve any. In my opinion they're right about that, but yeah... That's just my opinion. ;)

<t>Well, if there's 1 thing Dreamworks never seems to fail at, it's their advertising. So I don't think many of their releases will pass unnoticed.<br/> <br/> Also, I still know a lot of people who call EVERY 3D computer animated movie a Pixar movie, because they don't know better than Pixar being t...

Hey, as long as they can keep funding more serious movies like How To Train Your Dragon with the profit of the more 'commercial' releases, I'm completely fine with it. :P

Yeah, but Shrek Forever After isn't really worth mentioning imo... :P Anyway, if they have the capacity, why not? The only thing to worry about is that people might not have enough money to go to all of their movies! :P Also, the one movie Pixar has in stock for us this year... might as well be the ...

I think Dreamworks went on a recruiting spree to realise all this! Damn, did anyone see the list of upcoming Dreamworks projects? The officially announced ones are already an impressive amount, but there's also about 10 unannounced projects on there!!!

EDIT: And again, I can't post links... Sigh.

Hmmm, LotG seems to be lacking in both ticket sales and fanbase. How the world is receiving this movie is definitely underwhelming, because it deserves a lot more. I thought it was a great movie with outstanding animation. Pure eyecandy.

Oh well... Life's unfair, I guess.

I definitely thought Legend of the Guardians would take some nominations... At least for best song or best animated feature. When it comes to Best Score I'm rooting for How To Train Your Dragon and when it comes to nominees for Best Picture, I'd say Inception. Toy Story 3 was great, but it's not Bes...

Re: Animated Views' Best of the Decade Film List

I'm confused. Shouldn't it be from the years 2000-2009. 2010 starts a new decade. It all depends upon whether one starts counting from '1' or from '0'. Both methods seem equally correct (or incorrect, depending upon whom you ask). But both reference a ten-year period .. which is the definition of a...

Re: Blue Sky's Rio

I think Pixar will have lots of competition anyway, because the only movie they're coming with this year is Cars 2. ;)

<r>Yeah I figured... but you can't be sure enough. On some sites about animation, people are oblivious as to how it's done. <E>:P</E><br/> <br/> Either way, cheers for not giving me the 'noob treatment'. <E>:)</E><br/> <br/> on-topic: Does anyone else just love the posters with the catchphrases? Pixar dropped Newt somewhere in 2010. The average production time of an animated movie is 4 years. I think this is just coincidence, as I think 4 years ago nobody knew about Pixar wanting to make the movie Newt except for Pixar themselves. Also, there's been no released material of Newt as far as I ...

@Ben, the link you posted isn't the first 2 minutes of the feature, but I think it's the first trailer... Or second, I'm not even sure. :P I would post the link in this message, but for some reason I'm not allowed to post links... It's on Bing and on Trailer Addict though, so if you just Google 'Rio...
