DreamWorks Animation will be premiering their latest movie, Home, later this month. It will be the studio's 31st animated feature. They released their first film, Antz, back in 1998. The Prince of Egypt came out that same year and earned the studio their first Academy Award nominations and their first win, for Best Original Song. DreamWorks partnered with British animation studio Aardman for the first of three films with 2000's Chicken Run. In 2001, they had their first blockbuster with Shrek, which earned almost half a billion dollars and won the very first Oscar for Best Animated Feature. Almost a third of DreamWorks' catalog are sequels, with three more on the slate in the next three years. They've made a major push onto the small screen with seven TV series' based on their film properties — four of those, and more going forward, are part of an innovative partnership with Netflix.
According to Wikipedia, DreamWorks Animation feature films have made a total of $12.5 billion worldwide, with a $419 million average gross per film. Shrek 2 and Shrek the Third are among the 50 highest-grossing films of all time, and fifteen of their movies are among the 50 highest-grossing animated films.
