Bambi II ASIFA screening

Bambi II, from DisneyToon Studios, is being released on DVD in the United States but in theaters in Europe. However, ASIFA-Hollywood members will be treated to a screening on February 7 at the Harmony Gold Screening Room so it can be viewed in all its big-screen glory.

Five minutes of Hoodwinked airing tonight on TV; Free "making of" featurette

Cinematical indicates that Nickelodeon will be airing the first five minutes of the Weinstein Company’s animation debut, Hoodwinked, tonight at 8pm. Likewise, at the channel’s official website, a special “Nicksclusive” of the film is available to view. In related news, one may download a free 22-minute behind-the-scenes featurette for Hoodwinked at iTunes.

Tom & Jerry's KarateGuard coming to Cartoon Network

Yahoo! Finance has the press release for Cartoon Network’s premiere of The KarateGuard, a seven-minute Tom & Jerry short developed for theaters. Having debuted in Los Angeles cinemas on September 27, 2005, The KarateGuard will air on Cartoon Network at 9pm (ET/PT) on Friday, January 27th.

Warner Bros. acquires movie rights to Where the Wild Things Are

Variety indicates that Warner Bros. will move forward with the film version of Maurice Sendak’s classic book Where the Wild Things Are. Prior to this update, the project was set up at Universal. Despite the move, Spike Jonze will still direct the film adaptation, employing the screenplay he co-wrote with novelist Dave Eggers.
