Incredibles DVD signing photos

Follow the ‘More’ link to view five images from yesterday’s Incredibles DVD signing held at the Hollywood Virgin Megastore. Apparently writer/director Brad Bird was there (in addition to story supervisor Mark Andrews and music supervisor Michael Giacchino) even though he wasn’t mentioned in the announcement.

Ward Kimball home movies

On Thursday, April 21, the Hollywood Heritage Museum/Lasky-DeMille Barn will be screening “historic ‘home movie’ footage shot by Ward Kimball,” one of Walt Disney’s legendary Nine Old Men. While animation is not specifically mentioned, knowing Ward Kimball’s reputation this footage is likely to be quite entertaining.

626/Heffalump Mixup?

Robots preview on TV tonight

Kristin writes in to point out that the FOX Network is hosting a preview tonight at 8PM entitled Assembling ROBOTS: The Magic, The Music and the Comedy. Robots hits theaters next week, March 11, and is 20th Century Fox’s first CGI movie since Ice Age in 2002.

Song of the South goes PC?

On the online auction block now at eBay is a Disney book from 1973 entitled Brer Rabbit and His Friends. Only difference between this and the original story is that the infamous tar baby has been replaced by a glue-coated stuffed bunny rabbit in an attempt to be politically correct.

Genndy Tartakovsky tribute at the Egyptian

Coming later this month at Hollywood’s historic Egyptian Theatre is a three-part program centered on animator extraordinaire Genndy Tartakovsky.
