CARS STALLS; CHICK-LIT HAS MORE TIME – In an announcement which surprised no-one, Steve Jobs stated that Pixar’s Cars would move from its planned November ’05 release date to summer 2006, while Disney said that its previously announced for June version of Chicken Little will now move to that newly vacated November spot. Pixar’s following film, Rats, will now bow in 2007:

DREAMWORKS COPYCATS DISNEY (AGAIN!) – Proving that, whatever Disney thinks is a good idea, DreamWorks will follow, comes the news – just one day after the Pixar/Cars announcement – that Shrek 3 will move from November 2006 to May 2007. Moving to November 2006 is Flushed Away, a film about…rats (but in no-way connected to Pixar’s film!):

PIRATES II and III – the villain of the Caribbean says he hasn’t signed on for any further adventures:

DISNEY BACKS SONY’S BLU-RAY - the Mouse House has chosen Sony’s proprietary hardware format as its medium of choice in the upcoming next generation DVD stakes. Blu-Ray is seen as a direct competitor to the current DVD Forum’s HD-DVD standard:
