Easily beating estimates, Ice Age: The Meltdown took in a staggering $68 million at the weekend box office according to Box Office Mojo. The total easily bests the previous top opening weekend in March of $46.3 million set by the original Ice Age back in 2002. Overall, the film had the 21st biggest opening weekend of all time, besting recent hits The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (24th all time opening with $65.6 million) and War of the Worlds (25th all time opening with $64.9 million).
