We all learned in Aladdin that the Genie can do anything so it’s no surprise that he can transition from a hand-drawn form to a computer-generated form. The Magic Lamp Theater at Tokyo DisneySea is now showcasing a short Eric Goldberg-directed CGI film featuring the always morphing Genie in true 3D form (not just the computer generated type of 3D but popping-off-of-the-screen 3D) that includes a sort of twist on the classic “Friend Like Me” sequence. As Eric Goldberg told the audience at last week’s Academy presentation after discussing this film, “I heard flights to Tokyo are cheap right now.”
