PR Newswire, via Yahoo! News, indicates that Columbia Pictures’ Monster House will be released on July 21, 2006. In additon to being released in the usual 2-D style, the film will be released in more than 100 theaters with REAL D’s revolutionary digital 3-D format. The announcement was made today by Rory Bruer, President of Domestic Distribution at Sony Pictures. Monster House is the second film to use “Performance Capture” technology, following in the footsteps of last year’s The Polar Express.
