Over at DVD Toons, Rand Cyrenne looks back on the years of World War II, and the significance the war had on entertainment, both in the way it was effected by events, and the way it was able to combat and provide escape from what was going on during those troubled times. Following on from the recent 60th anniversary of the D-Day landings, as well as the Walt Disney Treasures release of wartime material, this piece provides a historcial backdrop to many of the animated films and shorts produced at this time.
