Because of a “tentative” new contract deal that was resolved on Thursday by EchoStar Communications Corp. and Turner Broadcasting Systems Inc., Cartoon Network and several other channels will remain on Dish satellite TV, the Big Cartoon Database points out. Declining to give further comment, EchoStar spokesman Steve Caulk stated, “We have an agreement in principle and we’re still working out the details.” EchoStar had insisted that Turner Broadcasting was looking for “unreasonable rate increases in order for the company to carry its channels”.
