The nominees for the 86th Academy Awards have been announced this week. American Hustle and Gravity led all films with ten each.

Some notable snubs include Saving Mr. Banks, thought to be a lock for Best Picture and Actress and a possibility for Actor, picking up only one nod for Best Original Score, and Pixar getting blanked with Monsters University and The Blue Umbrella left off completely. Along with Cars 2, MU is just the second Pixar film not nominated for Best Animated Feature since the award began in 2001. Storylines to watch for include The Wind Rises going after an Oscar in what may be Hayao Miyazaki’s last outing, and Frozen attempting to become the very first film from Walt Disney Animation Studios to win the trophy for Best Animated Feature.
