One can’t expect a movie about talking fish to be scientifically accurate, but people do glean information from them and take them as facts. It’s a habit that really should be broken and you will understand why after reading The Fisheries Blog post about Finding Nemo and clownfish reproduction. Apparently, clownfish are born hermaphrodites and can change their gender from male to female. Female clownfish are dominate, so if the female fish is killed the male will become a female and find a new male to mate with. It gets even more complicated with other fish species. Someone will probably create a video with this alternate telling of Nemo, Dory, and Marlin. Just wait on Youtube for a few days.
